why haven't I seen scifi where AI armies use bio. warfare?

seems freaking obvious for them to use, wouldn't it? I mean, we'd certainly use things like emp, water, microwaves less harmful to -our- corporeal forms as well. What gives in this lack of foresight? Perhaps there's not enough overlap in the thinking processes that produce good AI-scifi and good 28-days type zombie movies. Certainly an overlooked loophole, at least as far as mainstream sci-fi.

Why is there no prominent well-known screenplay where after AI is created biological agents are used against humanity? This seems like a serious weakness-- all scifi I can recall either deals with one or the other issue-- as if no scifi writer knows both computer science and genetics.

Consider for an instance what would happen if the AI leadership in any given sci-fi movie (matrix, terminator, I robot?) simply made an ebola-type virus they could periodically release (through a common insect vector like mosquitos if needed) onto human forces. Or what about simply poisoning all of the drinking water/air with a toxic chemical? Or sufficiently irradiating it?


I always thought of the Brave New World scenario (totalitarianism through total childhood brainwashing and adult drugging) particularly unnerving.
Might superior intelligences be able to run such a world, for their own amusement perhaps? I do not think it is by any means unimaginable, and possibly even a significant possibility. If enlightened machines behave much the same as enlightened homo sapiens (enlightened homos? =P) (hey- mecha-sapiens? no- robosapien already taken =( ) ... well, whether that will happen is still a big question.
